I similarly hoped to enjoy Chance the Rapper's revival of MTV's celebrity prank series Punk'd-because Chance is charming, handsome, talented, et cetera-but the quick-bite format doesn't give the pranks enough room to build.

Its singular nature means each prank fits a single quibi well and makes for a complete viewing which is something most of the quibis here can't claim.

The Quibi reboot is a chaotic neutral at best-host Chance the Rapper is too classy and good-hearted for the role; he takes no pleasure in wreaking havoc on any of his guests.

The "Punk'd" formula has been a success for years, so no doubt some will find the new version hilarious. For me, it was the rare and inconsequential clunker in a largely shining debut for Quibi.
