The crimes were just as puzzling and interesting, but the biggest improvement this season came from including more of the supporting cast and giving all of the characters a personal connection to many of the cases they investigated.

The relationship between Castle and Beckett reminds me of the early years of Moonlighting, when Maddie and David had sexual tension to play off of.

Castle is good, but it's not great. It's not clear it even wants to be the latter, and that's totally OK (fun TV can be really good TV).
